Jobs opening up in Timmins outside of mining and forestry sectors

Two new businesses in Timmins are helping to diversify the local economy. With Mayor Steve Black helping to bring a rock wool insulation facility to town after travelling to Asia, and Calabrian opening a liquid sulphur production facility, jobs are moving away from the mining and forestry industries.

Black says this bringing in foreign investment is the Timmins Economic Development Corporation has been actively working on. He says Calabrian starting construction next spring, and a prospective investor from China are great news for our economy. He says both companies will help to open jobs in Timmins, that aren’t in the primary mining and forestry sectors.
