Enrolment up at Northern College

Northern College is attracting a wider range of students. Preliminary figures show that 17 per cent of its students are from Southern Ontario. That’s up slightly from the 14 per cent total in 2012.

Also, 24 international students are studying at the school this year. In addition, student enrolment among all full-time, first-year students is up seven per cent over last year. Northern did another student count on November 1st and will release the final tally at the end of the month.

One area seeing growth is the college’s Health Sciences and Emergency Services program. Northern President Fred Gibbons says changing demographics in the region and nationally are creating more demand for this program.
