Remi Lake in Moonbeam and the provincial park it’s a part of may have been the site of illegal gunfire.
It’s against the law to hunt within municipal boundaries and in a provincial park.
Gilbert Peters, a volunteer who helps maintain the many trails in the park says signs are being destroyed by gunfire.
Peters says volunteers help maintain the trails and the signage and now funding has to be found to repair the signs for the winter.

He says it’s a major concern as the trails in the area are used all year round and there are many homes in the area which could be in danger.
Peters says he’s hoping to get local police and the game warden from the park involved.
