News No problems with Politis’ municipal election expenses SHARE ON: Taylor Ablett, staff Monday, Oct. 19th, 2015 The results of the municipal elections audit of Cochrane’s Mayor, Peter Politis, have been released. Earlier this summer, a Cochrane resident submitted a complaint accusing the town’s mayor of inaccurately reporting election expenses. An inquiry determined that an audit of expenses was warranted, and Politis did not appeal the decision. An independent audit firm out of Timmins reported no problem with the municipal election expenses. Politis and Cochrane’s town council still has yet to hear from the Compliance Audit Committee as the process is nearing completion. (Written by Greg Rosser)
