NDP has plans to create jobs in Timmins

There are a number of areas that need to be moved forward to create new jobs in Timmins, according to Federal NDP candidate Charlie Angus.

Angus says the New Democrats will focus on key areas, like supporting plans to hire interns and co-op students, saying there is too much youth out-migration in the north. He says they will also help with an organization that puts money into building new ideas.

That means sustainable funding for FedNor, instead of cuts, to help get new job ideas off the ground. Angus says they will also lower the small business tax rate from 11 per cent to nine per cent, which will help to sustain and support the sector.

Running against Angus next Monday is Conservative John Curley, Green Party candidate Max Kennedy, and Liberal Todd Lever.
