Green Party committing 1% of GST to infrastructure funding

The Green Party has pledged one per cent of the GST for infrastructure. Candidate for Timmins-James Bay, Max Kennedy, says they will also start a council where the feds, the province, the city, and the First Nations governments would sit down together. He says there is a disconnect right now, and municipalities have a disproportionate responsibility compared to the province or the federal government.

Kennedy also makes the point that crumbling roads are more than just an inconvenience for drivers in Timmins. He says they have to stay in good shape so economic opportunities in other venues can get to market.

Running against Kennedy in the October 19th election is NDP candidate Charlie Angus, Conservative John Curley, and Liberal Todd Lever.
