Charges laid after a car was set on fire

A 24-year-old Timmins man is looking at a number of charges after a car was set on fire. The blaze was sparked on Friday at a home on Elm Street. Police found the man in the area, and after a confrontation ending up using a taser on him.

Police also received a call about two more cars in the area that had their gas tanks tampered with, which are now being called attempted arsons. The man is facing three charges, including assaulting an officer and arson. The investigation is ongoing.
