New residency positions opening up at NOSM

Changes to northern healthcare are on the horizon. The Northern Ontario School is Medicine has announced five new residency positions opening up in 2016 for northeastern healthcare students. The school is also creating a new strategic plan, with some changes already in place.

Those changes includes a new CAO, Ray Hunt. The plan will work through until 2020, and will strengthen community bonds and tailor their goals for the needs of northern Ontario. The plan is going to shape the policy for its students, hospitals, and clinics. They are going to better engage the communities NOSM students work in, and focus on new ideas for improving healthcare in rural northern communities.

There are residency students are working at the Sensenbrenner Hospital in Kapuskasing now.
