New Chamber President sworn-in

This year’s Chamber President has been officially sworn-in. Al Thorne handed the reins over to Kurt Bigeau at last night’s Chamber Annual General Meeting. Bigeau says he most looking forward to working with the board over the next year. He says there is a lot of great stuff on the go, like new policies, Business Takes the Lead initiatives, and making sure members know what the Chamber of Commerce does.

Bigeau’s theme for the year is engagement. He says that means letting the community know what the benefits of being a member are. Some of those benefits include the member-to-member program, small business group benefits, and the affinity program which provides discounts on things like gas.

He says if people see the value, the Chamber may be able to bring in new members, and retain existing members. Bigeau has 16-years experience in finance, working for his own company Northern Lights Financial.
