A South Porcupine OPP officer is being charged with theft and fraud. The 43-year-old woman has been with the police for over 20 years. The OPP and the Professional Standards Bureau were investigating a misappropriation of funds, and laid the charges yesterday.
The three charges are:
– Theft over $5,000
– Fraud over $5,000
– Breach of Trust
The officer has a court date in mid-October, and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins. The 21-year member of the Ontario Provincial Police has been suspended with pay.
