Welcome to Timmins night is a win-win for the community and organizations

Events like Welcome to Timmins night are part of what keeps the city tight-knit. Mayor Steve Black says the event is a win-win, not only for newcomers but also for businesses. He says it’s a chance for businesses and local organizations to promote what they do, while tracking their volunteer base. It’s also good for newcomers to Timmins to see what the city has to offer and what there is to do around town. Black says he also hears positive feedback from people who have lived in Timmins for years. He says anyone can find new things in town they didn’t know about before.

Around 500 people were at the Mac last night to see what is new for the fall. Non-perishables and stuffed toys were collected for the South Porcupine food bank and the Cochrane District EMS.
