Wednesday is “Grind Day” on Vimy Ave.
The northern detour route around connecting link construction on Algonquin Blvd. is getting its pavement ground up. Re-paving happens this weekend, as part of grinding and paving in several parts of Timmins.
Workers began at 4:30am. They’ll take time off between 8:00 and 9:30 to allow for increased traffic during the trip to school and work. They expect to be done by 3:30pm.
Vimy’s days as part of the detour are numbered. As soon as construction moves further east… it will be replaced by Second Ave. and Brunette Rd.
