Why Second Ave. was closed at Cedar St. early Tuesday morning

A man has been arrested and remains in police custody in connection with an incident that resulted in the area around Cedar St. and Second Ave. being cordoned off early Tuesday morning.

City police say the containment was because they were told the incident involved a weapon. The cordon was in the interest of public safety, while officers searched for evidence.

Because nothing has been sworn before a justice of the peace yet, they can’t divulge who the suspect is, any charges against him or what the weapon is.

They do debunk a rumour that swords were involved.
