The annual spring clean-up across Timmins has been delayed, but tipping fees at the landfill site will be waived between Monday, May 29th and Friday, June 9th.
City council decided Tuesday night not to accept the only complying contract submitted to do the work, because its half-million-dollar cost. Based on previous contracts, only $70,000 was budgeted.
Public works director Ken Krcel will bring a plan to do the work in-house to the May 30th council meeting. It could spread the work over longer than a two-week period, dividing the city into zones… while minimizing the impact on pothole filling and other work.
