Black weighs in on council priorities

Timmins Mayor Steve Black says there are bigger things to worry about than councillors going to meetings. In an interview with The Moose, Black says it’s unfortunate they are dealing with these issues. He says the discussion came up at council on August 10th, and then the conversation continued through emails afterwards.

He says many think there is an issue when mixing council and personal business. There are rules about conflict of interest. But, he says, it’s not up to him to decide when those rules have been broken. Black says it’s unfortunate these discussions keep happening, which are eating up a lot of council time. He says some of the bigger issues include the Connecting Link.
