Ringette regionals skate into Timmins

The pinnacle of the sport of ringette in Northern Ontario is the regional tournament… and Timmins is hosting it next weekend.

Timmins Ringette Association president Chantal Merenda says 45 teams from the Northeast and Northwest will be in town, representing age groups from Bunnies right up to U18.

“We will have games played at the Sportsplex, McIntyre Arena as well as the Whitney,” she states.

Timmins will have an almost-full contingent participating in the tournament.

“All the age categories are represented except the U14s, which we don’t have a team unfortunately, but every other division will be represented,” Merenda notes.

The president hopes anyone interested in ringette comes out to see what it’s like.  Then on April 4th and 6th, the association holds “Come Try Ringette” events.  Details are on its website.
