We at Country 93.1 have our collective foot on the gas pedal, ready to win the race for a Timmins Chamber of Commerce Nova award.
This year’s theme for the annual competition is “The Winning Formula”, as in car racing.
Chamber board member Benjie Potvin delivered our finalist nomination in the category of Business of the Year, 6-10 employees. He sees the Novas as being prestigious and a source of camaraderie.
“It’s nice to get a tap on the shoulder, a handshake, a recognition no matter if you win or lose, the people in that category are all about supporting each other,” he says.
“We’re here trying to represent, to show you guys have been doing a great job and whether you’re Chamber members or not Chamber members, you still get the nod if you’re up on that and your peers have recognized it.”
For the record, Country 93.1 does belong to the Chamber.
We won that Scotiabank Business of the Year award in 2019 and in 2021, The Venture Centre Award for Contribution to the Community.
The eventual winners in all categories will be revealed at the Nova Gala on Thursday, May 11th at the Mac.
