It might be premature to declare that spring has arrived early, despite the sunny, above-zero weather we’ve experienced the last several days.
City Hall says, however, the weather has “wreaked havoc with the ice surfaces” on the outdoor rinks it maintains. So they’re closed to the public, at least for now.
The weather forecast is for daytime temperatures just slightly below zero the rest of this week… so a decision whether the skate path at Hollinger Park; both rinks at Roy Nicholson Park and the one outside the Mountjoy Arena open again this season will come later.
