It got really cold, really fast Wednesday afternoon into Thursday. That does not mean you can skate on outdoor rinks maintained by the city again just yet.
Workers are flooding and levelling the ice surfaces. Some people ignored the request to stay off them during the mild weather, and that means extra work repairing the damage they did.
City Hall says it’s aiming to have the rinks at the Hollinger Park, Roy Nicholson Park and outside the Mountjoy Arena ready for Friday night and the long weekend.
