No speed reduction, but that’s okay: Gvozdanovic

There will not be a speed limit reduction on Croatia Avenue in Schumacher as Coun. Bill Gvozdanovic wanted, but he’s happy with the compromise.

“Yeah, we’re going to get some signs just to let people know that there’s a steep grade, to please slow down, and then we may add a speed monitoring device in the future,” he tells My Timmins Now Dot Com.

That compromise was reached with city administrators.  Traffic experts said the stretch of the street under consideration does not merit a 40 km/h limit, instead of 50.

“I spoke with the residents,” Gvozdanovic says. “They’re happy. That’s what matters.”

The councillor says it was all about safety concerns.
