Mapping out the future of recreation in Timmins, updating master plan

Ideas are coming in, towards updating the recreation master plan for Timmins.

Community services director Steph Palmateer reports that more than 30 recreation groups and facility users have weighed in.  Among some of their ideas are improvements to squash, cricket and tennis. He refers to them as lesser known but increasingly popular activities in the city.

“It’s good to see those recommendations coming forward, because I mean that’s the whole reason behind this update is we’re trying to hear from the community about the community’s neds and what they’d like to see,” Palmateer remarks.

Now it’s your turn as a resident to share your thoughtss. You can do it on www.timmins.ca  .

“We’re encouraging anybody who can to go and have a look at the website and complete the survey,” says Palmateer. “It should be available this Friday.”

Still to come are input sessions and surveys about culture and tourism in Timmins. Palmateer says that’s expected to start happening later in February.
