An Ontario-wide police investigation aimed at protecting children from sexual abuse and exploitation on the internet has netted hundreds of charges.
The OPP says during October, 27 police services conducted 255 investigations, executed 168 search warrants and seized over a thousand devices. One-hundred-and-seven people are charged with 428 child pornography offences, including a 61-year-old man from Timmins. They won’t say anything more about him.
Sixty-one victims were identified and offered help. Another 60 kids were safeguarded. Police continue to investigate 175 instances. Additional charges might be laid.
