Aboriginal high school students are being encouraged to go to College.

Northern College is hosting 50 students from Aboriginal communities in the James Bay area this week. The students will visit each campus to see what programs and services the college offers. The students will also spend time with Northern College’s campus Elders, and attend traditional ceremonies.

This has become an annual showcase as part of Northern’s commitment to increase educational opportunities for Aboriginal peoples.

Fred Gibbons says “we hope their stay will inspire them pursue post-secondary education, and that Northern will be their college of choice.”
