Don’t be alarmed by the increased number of sirens around the city on Sunday. It’s for a good cause. It’s the annual firefighters’ food drive for the food banks in the city.
Deputy Fire Chief Berny Stansa says the whole community will be covered, with firefighters accepting donations of non-perishable food items.
“We’re going to be meeting at the fire stations between 11:00-11:30,” he says, “and we’ll have firetrucks going out.”
Cash will also be accepted.
