As it continues its work against the use of opioids and other illegal drugs in the city, the Timmins and Area Drug Strategy is looking for expert advice.
It’s holding a series of focus groups. Drug strategy member Christianne Blain outlines who it wants involved in the groups.
“People of lived experience who might be on their healing journey,” she says. “That could be people that are completely abstinent, which there are a lot of people that are.”
They could also be struggling currently or not at all, but do use drugs.
“We want all of those perspectives,” Blain adds. ”We want to broaden that scope to make sure that we’re, as health care providers, opening up the doors to options.”
