Making communities safer

Timmins Police are taking part in a provincial imitative to increase safety.

A crime prevention information booklet is online for public access.

Communications coordinator for TPS Kate Cantin says it gives people the information to be involved in their own safety and the safety of the community. She says this even means calling the police if you feel something is not right or even just a little bit “off” because even if it turns out to be nothing reporting is still an important process.

The booklet is something people should keep ready all the time, says Cantin, so people can be more in control of their safety. The booklet has tips on many things including how to prevent break and enters, auto theft, scams, and how to be safe online.

Timmins Police do have crime prevention events throughout the year. Cantin says to stay tuned to the Police website for any announcements.
