TPS seeking convenience store thief

It has been almost three months since a brazen theft in Schumacher, and Timmins Police communications coordinator Marc Depatie explains why investigators are releasing security photos now.

“We’ve exhausted all investigative means to identify our suspect here,” he says. “None of them have paid off, so now we’re making an appeal for the public to come forward with any information that might move this investigation forward.”

At about 4:00am on Thursday, March 24th, a man went into the convenience store in Schumacher.  When the clerk was distracted, he went behind the counter, took a garbage bag out of the can and filled it with several packs of cigarettes and a cash box.

“Obviously, we’d like to know a little bit more about this fellow,” Depatie states. “Our suspect is clearly identified in the pictures. We just need to put a name to the face.”

Police hope that someone recognizes the man and calls either TPS or Crime Stoppers.
