Local art show and sale at museum

The Timmins Museum: National Exhibition Centre is helping local artists and artisans climb out of a hard two-and-a-half pandemic years.

Director-curator Karen Bachmann says the gallery has been thrown open to them, to display and sell their works.

“We’ve asked artists to submit two works for the sale. It’s going to run from June the 15th until August the 15th,” she explains. “So people are invited to come in, of course, and have a look at all of the wonderful talent we have in this region.”

If you see something you like, you can buy it on the spot.  All the money will go directly to the artist, who will also be able to replace it in the display with another. It’s not limited to art on the wall, either.

“We have some sculpture,” notes Bachmann. “We have some pottery included. We have some Ukrainian Easter eggs which have been done by a local artist as well.”

The show and sale runs during regular museum hours, 9:00am-4:00pm weekdays, 12:00-4:00pm weekends.
