Risk Takers reach out with helping hand to supply sports to low-income kids

Risk Takers Chapter 705 is trying to start a sports program for kids living in low-income housing on Sterling Ave. in Timmins.

President Dan Gloster is looking for your help, in the form of donations.

“We’re looking for any used sporting equipment that they have – or new,” he states. “You know, there’s a lot of people that have stuff just laying around their garage, like baseball bats, gloves…”

He adds the Risk Takers hope to use nearby parks for activities like a weekly or twice-a-month baseball game. “Have a little baseball game with the kids, provide a snack, a drink, something like that, you know?”

If you have equipment you can donate, message Dan Gloster on Facebook or phone him at 705-951-0654.
