Business owner philosophical about a break-in at his store and who did it

Shortly after midnight Wednesday, Mike Young got the call from police that any downtown business owner dreads.  His leisure and gift store, Altered Reality, had been broken into.

Whoever did it smashed the glass in the front door to get in.

“They must have known they were on a limited time schedule,” Young supposes, “so they tried getting into my cabinets, didn’t succeed, broke a glass cabinet and made off with three statues and some bracelets.”

Young estimates the value at $700 or $800..  He has cameras, but the power was off.

He and his staff had a lot of glass to clean up, but Young says it wasn’t all that bad.

“I just think it’s a bit of a sin the way society is starting to fall apart. What difference did three statues and a few bracelets make in their lives? And that really is the question.”

Young doesn’t wish ill will on whoever broke in.  He says it’s going to come to them, as long as they keep going down the same path.
