Timmins Fall Fair will be back this year

With COVID-19 restrictions being eased, the Porcupine District Agricultural Society is planning a full fall fair.  President Rock Whissell notes that the annual event did not run in 2021.

“We’ve already booked our arena for September 10th and the 11th,” he states. “We’re back to where we were two years ago. We’ve got all these new ideas we’ve been thinking about for the last two years. So it’s going to be probably bigger and better.”

To celebrate the organization’s 70th anniversary, Whissell says the ag society is hoping to have a display of antique tractors.

“If anybody in the community can help us out to find tractors or even the working pick-up trucks that we used to use on the farms, it’s something that we’ll probably get organized to put on a demonstration throughout the weekend.”

Planning is also underway to start the farmer’s market season at Participark on July 1st.
