Timmins Ringette Association Fun Day chance to learn if it’s the sport for you

Their organization calls tomorrow at the Whitney Arena a “coming out of Covid event” for ringette players in Timmins.

From eight in the morning until about 8:30 at night, the Timmins Ringette Association has a fun day of games involving all of its age groups up to U-12.

Vice-president David Laneville says the day wraps up with the older and open divisions playing against their Beasts.

“The Beasts are the fathers, sometimes grandfathers, boyfriends, husbands of the players,” he explains.

It’s also a chance to ask questions to see if ringette might interest you. Board members will be at the rink all day.

“It’s a perfect opportunity for anybody who wants to check ringette out,” Laneville states. “We call it the fastest game on ice. It is. It’s much faster than hockey. It’s incredible.”
