Donate old clothes to help find a diabetes cure

Drop three pounds of clothes, and help find a cure for diabetes. The Canadian Diabetes Association is having their three pound challenge, where they ask people to take old clothes to a drop box around Timmins. William Blaine, Operations Manager, says that helps pay for research.

“The diabetes epidemic in Canada costs the healthcare system about $14-billion a year,” explains Blaine. “Right now we’re sitting at about 10 million people, by 2025 it’s going to be 13.”

All of the clothes gets sold to Value Village stores across the country. They have launched a new iPhone, and soon to be Android, app to find a dropbox closest to you in Timmins. Look up Clothesline in the app store and then head over to donate.
