Timmins history trivia: Mountjoy Township and Hersey Lake

We’re delving into local history trivia again this week, as part of our special Christmas season feature.

Here’s museum director-curator Karen Bachmann with the first of today’s two questions.

“Who served as the last Reeve for the Township of Mountjoy? Gabriel Benoit, Ken Malley, Fern Tremblay or Ray Auclair?”

Fern Tremblay was the last Reeve in 1972, prior to amalgamation.

The second question asks what Hersey Lake was formerly called: Timmins Lake, Charlebois Lake, Little Nighthawk or Tremblay Lake?

The answer is Charlebois Lake.
