The commander of the four James Bay detachments of the OPP (Cochrane, Kapuskasing, Hearst and Moosonee) is moving into municipal policing, becoming chief of Timmins Police.

Insp. Daniel Foy begins in the new post this coming February.

The search to replace John Gauthier began two months ago, when he announced his upcoming retirement.  He’s been chief for eleven years.
