Less than a week before Remembrance Day, the Timmins Cenotaph has been hit by vandalism.
It’s not clear when it happened, but the monument at the entrance to Hollinger Park has streaks of paint across it.
The cenotaph is owned and maintained by the city. Corporate communications coordinator Amanda Dyer says the maintenance department is aware of the damage.
“I don’t think that it’s going to be an issue to get it tidied up before… Remembrance Day,” she tells My Timmins Now Dot Com. (The maintenance department) are going to make it a priority.”
