Most Timmins streets captured on dashcam video by local man

Most of the streets of Timmins have been documented on dashcam, both ways, by John Fleming.

It took 20 separate days, anywhere from one to eight hours a day, between June and October.

“I missed all of the Connaught area and a few odds and ends here and there,” Fleming tells My Timmins Now Dot Com.  “Hopefully that will all be captured in 2022, as I’m going to try to make this an annual thing.”

Fleming answers the obvious question of “Why?” by saying mostly for posterity.  He plans to repeat it every year, to chronicle the changes to our streets.

Fleming has more than 900 videos. He posts four a day on the Timmins Historical Society’s YouTube channel, and the Timmins Then and Now Facebook group.

“The plan is to do this every year, every single street, end to end, every year for as long as I can do it.” That’s to document changes on the streets.
