Be patient for one more month, and you’ll be driving on a brand new Algonquin Blvd. between Thériault Blvd. and the river.
City public works manager Ken Krcel says curbs and sidewalks have been installed… and paving starts this week on the west end of the connecting link project.
“All the main pipe and infrastructure for the job are in the ground and they’re just testing the final segment of water main at Thériault and Algonquin,” he tells My Timmins Now Dot Com.
The heavy rain lately slowed things down a bit, especially around Town Creek. Krcel says a few washouts had to be cleaned up, too.
“A bit of a complicated job getting all the infrastructure underneath the creek, but we’re moving forward and we’re hoping to have a good product by the end of the month,” adds Krcel, meaning October. He’s sticking by his prediction of being finished by then.
