Angus credits engagement with voters for his seventh win as Timmins-James Bay MP

Charlie Angus is back as the New Democratic Member of Parliament for Timmins-James Bay for a seventh term.

He says personal engagement made the difference for him in Monday’s vote – he campaigned in every part of the vast riding, meeting as many people as possible.

The number one issue he heard during that engagement was the election itself.

“I think people were very frustrated that Justin called an election during a pandemic,” Angus says. “People were very frustrated and we saw that, I think, in the results tonight for the Liberals.”

“I think people recognized that we offered a vision that was positive, that was about working for people and it was about being engaged and that’s what I do.”

Angus has held the Timmins-James Bay seat since 2004.
