There are significant barriers for trans-Ontarians who want sex reassignment surgery. And Nickel Belt MPP France Gelinas is trying to change that. Gelinas has written a letter to health minister Eric Hoskins asking to expand access to the surgery. Right now there is only one clinic approved in Ontario to do a pre-op approval. It approved almost 180 surgeries last year, but almost 1,000 people are still waiting.
