Awareness day at Northern College gives people an understanding of the challenges that face people everyday.
President Fred Gibbons says this tradition shows their commitment to making post-secondary school accessible for everyone.
Opening ceremonies begin at 9:00 a.m. followed by the highly-anticipated annual wheelchair rally. Closing ceremonies and an award presentation will be held at 12:30 p.m.
Gibbons says this is an opportunity for members of our community to learn about our innovative teaching methods and personalized learning strategies. He hopes attendees take home the message that anyone can be successful and disabilities don’t define your ability to achieve success.
