The ongoing issue of the forestry sector in Ontario and Quebec continues. Forestry ministers from the two provinces have met to talk about promoting sustainable forest management. The goal is to keep supporting international trade, and to keep endangered species safe.

“The forestry sectors in both Ontario and Québec are a matter of critical importance in the areas of job creation, economic prosperity and environmental sustainability,” says the Ontario Minister of Natural Resources, Bill Mauro. “We had a productive discussion and look forward to working together at the Canadian Council of Forest Ministers’ meeting later this summer in Thunder Bay.”
