Thunder Airlines hopeful to resume full service to north in near future

The President of a regional airline that flies from Timmins Vic Power Airport to the far north says the company is hopeful to resume full passenger service in the near future. Christa Calabrese of Thunder Airlines says flights were scaled back during the height of the third wave.

“Keeping a list available as to who has permission to come into this communities right now and that’s kind of how we have been operating,” Calabrese said. “As we go forward we hope to pick up again to our regular schedule.”

Calabrese says some of the communities were closed during the height of the third wave but have slowly started to reopen.

She credits the entire staff for keep communication lines open.

“Our base manager and our office staff and all of our flight line crew,” she said. “I believe we have really good relationships with the people up the coast and always looking to expand and just make sure we have those close relationships.”
