Step 3 of COVID-19 recovery allows Downtown Timmins BIA’s urban park

The Timmins BIA urban park finally gets its start for 2021 tomorrow (Wednesday).

BIA executive director Cindy Campbell says the every-Wednesday event will meet all health protocols under Step 3, and will focus on children’s activities.

Tomorrow features emergency vehicles.

“There’s nothing like a firetruck and police car to grab the little children’s attention,” Campbell remarks, “and we also have the tables and chairs out for people just to relax and enjoy downtown.”

“We’re calling it grab ‘n go which means that they’ll never use anything that another child used. If they use colouring crayons, they’ll take the colouring crayons with them. So that way, we keep everybody safe.”

Third Avenue will be blocked off between Cedar and Pine Streets for the event.
