Timmins Police say the practice of short cutting detours by commercial vehicles will not be tolerated. Corporate Communications Coordinator Marc Depatie says that Ross and Jubilee Avenues were not constructed to accommodate heavy commercial vehicle traffic on a regular basis.
He adds that those violating the detours in place will be charged.
All large commercial vehicles are to use the detour of Highway 655 to Laforest Drive and on to Shirley to get to the west side of the city.
