A student at Schumacher Public School will get lucky today during a fire safety education program.

The Timmins Fire Department will give away a set of four Toronto Blue Jays tickets as part of its Swing into Summer Safety campaign. The tickets are one of several prizes the firefighters will give out to students from the school as part of the launch. Before that, the department is hosting baseball type activities with the school’s Grade 5 and 6 students.

From the Fire Department:

“There are 203 fire departments across the province that will be participating in the campaign and holding events in their own communities over the summer and have been provided with cards, banners and posters.  Only 5 departments have been selected to hold a special launch event to coincide with the official launch at Rogers Centre at today’s game.  The Timmins Fire Department was one of the 5 Departments chosen  to take part in the special launch happening today.”

The Location has changed because of the rain. It will now be held at the Schumacher Public School gym (64 Croatia Ave. in Schumacher) at 11:45 AM.
