If your 2021 census form hasn’t arrived in the mail yet, it will at any time.

And while it’s the federal government that runs the census, Timmins City Hall is urging you to fill it out.

Corporate communications coordinator Amanda Dyer says the resulting data is really important for city planning.

“It helps us plan things like public services, transit, environmental services and then initiatives like the community safety and wellbeing plan,” she lists. “A lot of government funding is connected to that census data as well, especially in health services and social services.”

Dyer adds that Timmins has changed since the last census in 2016.  This will give City Hall a better handle on how it has changed, taking several measurements into account.
