City councillor wants a walk of fame

Timmins councillor Joe Campbell freely admits an idea he has isn’t high priority, partly due to the pandemic.  But he has floated past his council colleagues the idea to establish a walk of fame.  He sees it as a tourist hub.

He says it arises from discussion of honouring Frank Mahovlich.  The Schumacher Arts, Culture and Heritage Association and the Lions Club suggest plaques along the trail from Lions Park to Highway 655. They call it “Legends Row”.

And Downtown BIA executive director Cindy Campbell reminded the councillor that there’s already a walk of fame, outside the seniors’ centre on Third Avenue.

Councillor Campbell says he will bring the matter back to the table at a later date.
