However, the Porcupine Health Unit does say that three cases in Timmins have proven to be one of the variants of concern. Officially, it’s called B-1-1-7 and was first detected in the United Kingdom. No further testing will be done on these particular samples, and the health unit says vigilance with public health measures remains critical.
