Grand opening date set for second cannabis retailer in Timmins

Timmins is finally getting its second pot store.  Sessions Cannabis president and co-founder Steven Fry says the official opening in the Park Road Square at Algonquin and Brunette is next Thursday, February 25th.

“We’re pumped and we’re really excited to be welcomed to Timmins,” he enthusiastically tells My Timmins Now Dot Com.  “There seems to be a lot of buzz around the community.”

The store will feature about 400 cannabis products, all on the sales floor; and a wide array of accessories.

Fry is pleased with the location, up against Dutch Love on Riverside Drive.

“It’s centre ice. And the nice thing is we’re on the other side of town too, right? I think it’s going to be wonderful. I know the snowmobile paths are there, Wacky Wings is there, Food Basics is there. It’s a great intersection, too.”

He adds that the store has a large local feel to it.

“We’ve hired 15 people locally. Every single person’s been local, including the management team,” he outlines.  “People that are co-owners in the store with us are also local and family in the community, as well.  So a very local, tailored theme.”

The jobs are a mix of full- and part-time.

Fry says the local application has been going through the provincial approval process for almost a year.
